It has been one whirl-wind of a week here at our house. Since Tuesday, the backyard has been teeming with workmen building our fireplace. It was so neat to watch them build it – I’m like an expert now (because watching and doing are the same thing, right? ha ha!).
They’ll be finishing up the grout/etc on the seams Monday. And it still needs to get painted but we have to wait a couple weeks for the stucco to cure. You can see part of the patio in this one:
I’m just amazed it happened so quickly. I’ve figured that if I gave DH 4 hours of free time every Saturday to work on the yard, given his knowledge and our lack of equipment, it would have taken over a year to do what these guys did in three days.
So was it worth hiring out. You betcha!
