We’ve been working hard at getting our landscape done this summer. I guess I’ve just gotten tired of the endless dirt and weeds that crop up in an unfinished yard. So we started by planting some grass and installing a big patio, but realized after building it that we had nothing to put on it and not much money left for furniture. So, earlier this summer, we built this outdoor couch for our front patio. We used these and these plans from Ana-White.com.
Total cost to build – I have no clue. That would require me to look back through receipts and I’m just too lazy to bother (and this from an accountant! The shame!). But I do know that we had about $300 left in our budget before the couch and, along with some other purchases, we had a few dollars left in the end. Sadly, the rest of the yard (plants, paint, decor) will have to wait until next year.
As suggested in the plans, we used a Kreg jig to put it together. The hubbie has fallen in love with this tool and is now going all over the house and fixing whatever he can with it. He had so much fun using the Kreg jig, he’s insisting we make a couple more segments on the couch.
Maybe I should be jealous that something has grabbed his affections, but I just can’t complain when things are getting fixed. Hmmm, what else can I think up?
looks great! We need to do something similar for our screened in porch! Quick question – did you make the cushions or purchase them? thanks so much!
I wish I had the talent to make the cushions! I got them on sale at improvementscatalog.com. They sell the 24″ cushions that fit perfectly.
