I have a fetish for buying the kids pajamas. If I’m shopping for clothes for the kids, I inevitably end up buying a least one set of pajamas. This has created a glut of pjs in our house. At one point, DD had probably twice as many pjs as she did other clothes, a fact that I don’t bemoan even though I know it is foolish.
So I’ve been wondering lately, what is with my fascination with pajamas? Well, it ends up that my best friend has the same fascination, and so I’m beginning to think this may be a universal motherly thing? (I know…drawing conclusions based on two anecdotal incidents is not very scientific, but stay with me here). The reason we do this is simple (and probably really does apply to a lot of moms). My best friend sums it up best: “Really it’s me wanting to be in their cute soft jammies with a pony tail lounging in bed with a big coke with extra ice.” That says it all!
My little angels in their jammies!
DD loves her jammies so much, she bathes in them!
