Hallelujah! We have finally replaced the horrible, stained run-down carpet in our main room. Between the dog puking up manure; DD puking up red punch; various people tracking tons of grease from popcorn, chips, the garage floor onto it; DD’s wonderful diarrhea blowouts; and hair-balls/poop that the pets left so generously, this carpet was disgusting! No matter how many times we had it cleaned, up came the same old stains.
This carpet was so gross, I actually avoided inviting people over.
And now…we have beautiful, soft, fluffy, clean carpet in its place. Carpet that is so awesome, we haven’t moved the furniture back so we can just lay on it and take it all in. Carpet that has now inspired a new couch since I refuse to put the old one back on the carpet. (This is not an impulse decision. The couch is 20+ years old and saggy – it needed to go years ago!). Guess what we’re doing this weekend!
This carpet is supposed to be the most stain-resistant thing out there right now. And we’ve already tested it with the dog’s blood. Just a little wipe with a damp cloth and out it came! I’m so excited, I may throw out all furniture all together and just live simply on the bare carpet alone. Especially because it is a great way to get out some of DD’s energy!
Of course, there are new rules in the house. No shoes on the carpet. No food or drink outside the kitchen. And DS is such a drooler – he has to stay on the tile! (JK)

Note to PETA: We did not bleed the dog on purpose for this testing.
New stains tested: makeup (base) – came out with a little carpet cleaner and lots of blotting.
Baby spit up: comes up with a dry cloth (the carpet doesn’t even get wet if you catch it soon enough!)
