Every year I try to get the kids to help make an ornament for the Christmas tree, and every year I do all the work. So this year, I tried to find something that they could at least partially help with. I can’t remember where I saw this idea, but it looked easy enough for the kids to handle.
First the kids painted some wooden spools red.
Then, while the spools dried, I cut out some white paper to fit the width of the spool and the kids told me what they would want for Christmas. Then I added more stuff to make the list look longer, as DD only wanted three things and DS could only think of a “video”.
Then I used double-sided tape to tape the list on the spool, added some raffia to hang it, and viola – an easy, inexpensive ornament.
