After much anticipation, we have started the new school year here. Granted the anticipation was all mine; considering all my planning, research, & fantasizing it is nice to finally have things come to fruition. The excitement will wear off in a week or two when I realize that my vision of the kids sitting sweetly with me, hanging on my every word, and asking relevant, thought provoking questions is just pure delusion.
I plan on living in delusion as long as possible as it makes life so much sweeter. Some of my other delusions are that the breezeway will be converted to house and ready within two weeks, that if left long enough the weeds outside will kill themselves off, and that chocolate and diet coke will be proven to be a nutritionally complete meal.
That being said, we’ve officially gotten 1/40th of the school year done and I feel like celebrating! Of course, looking at the big picture, we are only 1/600th until Lucas graduates from high school. That makes the celebration kind of pathetic, doesn’t it? Am I really such a geek that I actually just calculated that – YES!
Highlights of this wonderful first week:
Have a good week everyone!
Well, not a complete meal, but apparently chocolate is good for you, sans, sugar :).
