Over the few years I’ve been homeschooling, I developed one serious pet peeve: dull pencils. I’ve tried many pencil sharpeners over the years – electric, manual, expensive, cheap – and every single one of them leaves the pencil half sharpened. Our most recent electric model sharpened pencils so lop-sided that I resorted to twisting the pencil back and forth. And if the pencils get too sharp, they break and we begin all over again. Half of our pencils are wasted in just trying to get a decent point of lead.

I have finally found a pencil sharpener that actually works! When I got it, I spent a good 10 minutes sharpening every pencil in my house just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, and this one sharpened them all perfectly.

Just squeeze together the tabs on top, pull out the face and insert a pencil. The device hold the pencil in the place.

Turn the crank until there is no resistance. Then squeeze the tabs together again to release the pencil.

And voila! A perfectly sharpened pencil.

Isn’t it beautiful?
